American Lineage

Mabel Clark received her degree of BA from St. Laurence, 1913. Both taught school for awhile, then bought a farm at So. Rutland, N.Y., where they resided 32 years. Their new home is being built just across the road from the Charles Eli Maltby homestead, 1955. Mr. Maltby is supervisor of the town.

Note. Chauncy Paul Maltby until his death, was the eldest son of an eldest son to leave male issue, back to the time of our emigrant ancestor, William Maltby.

IX.3824. Clark Sherman Maltby, b. Feb. 13, 1888 (Chas.E.8, Chauncy 7, Milo 6, Jos.5, Jos.4, Jos.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. in 1933 and at his death, 1939, was father of four children.

IX.3825. Ruth Emma Maltby, b. Feb. 19, 1890 (Chas.E.8, Chauncy 7, Milo 6, Jos.5, Jos.4, Jos.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. 1913, Robert Lawrence Joyce, an economics teacher who taught for years in the city system of Newark, N.Jersey. Res. Glen Ridge, N.J. Ruth Emma d. in 1942.

              typographer. (1955) Res. Bernardsville, N.J.  No children.

IX.3826. Kenneth Eli Maltby, b. Mar. 31, 1901 (Chas.E.8, Chauncy 7, Milo 6, Jos.5, Jos.4, Jos.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). (Letter 1954) "I have moved around quite a bit and came back at age of 50, to buy a place within 200 yards of my place of origin."

Mar. 1929, Flavia Edwards, who teaches English and Latin at Adams Center High School. (N.Y.) Mr. Maltby is with Montgomery Ward, retail dealers.

A.B. at Lawrence University, 1953, before "joining up." He is with the Security branch of the armed forces and located on the Keni Peninsula, about 45 miles from Anchorage. He left Seattle, Wash., in Oct. 1954.
