Samuel Baldwin from whom Allen Maltby descended. Paternally Mary Bruen is given as 12th in descent from Robert le Brun of A.D. 1230 (Ref. Ormerod's Hist. of Cheshire (England) Vol. II, p. 322).

The Bruen marriage, gives, paternally, a descent from Malcom I, King of Scotland, A.D. 938; maternally, Alfred the Great, b. 848-9 A.D., also a descent from Robert II, King of France, circa 1000 A.D.

VII.1586. Capt. Julius Birdsey Maltbie, b. Aug. 28, 1823 (Birdsey 6, Jehiel 5, Dan.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Nov. 14, 1845, Caroline J. Armstrong. He was of the town of Otto, Cattarangus Co., N.Y.; and his wife was of East Otto. He was in the Civil War. He d. Oct. 6, 1902, at Gouanda, N.Y., and his wife d. at Gouanda, Jan. 31, 1891.

VII.1587. Lucius Harvey Maltbie, b. 1827, Weedsport, N.Y. (Birdsey 6, Jehiel 5, Dan.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. 1857, Kevilla Brown, at Villinova, N.Y. Family moved to Evans (Jerusalem Corners) when Lucius H. was a child. His son, Birdsey Lucius Maltbie, wrote that he had a great uncle named Jonathan. "Uncle Jonathan lived and died at Evans (Jerusalem Corners). My grandfather had only two children." (Note. This uncle was on the maternal side, as Mr. Maltbie has a double line of Maltby ancestry).
