In searching records one finds many prominent men of Meigs name.

Personal Note: I saw Aunt Ann Meigs at the Daboll home in 1906. My memory is that she was a pleasant person and of an active mind. In 1927, Mr. Robert D. Richtmyer of Ithaca went with me to search for data. We saw Miner Maltby's daughter, then we spent some hours at the Charles Dabolls, who went with us to see cemeteries, old homesteads, the Pig's Ear by the Canal, Thad Maltby and wife. An attempt was made to locate the spot where Chester Molby was buried. This was rather indeterminate.

* Information from members of the family, burial records, tombstone inscriptions, newspaper clippings.
