A granddaughter says "Susannah Molby Hart must have been a very talented mother, judging from the arts she taught our mother; tailoring, knitting, crocheting and tatting. Our mother made all our clothes for many years, - the most beautiful ones we've ever had. She made our home."

If Truman Hart's children were all born in Reading, Mich., as Miss Grace Whitney says, then he must have gone west soon after they were married - about 1841. Yet in the 1850 Van Buren Census, he is reported as a farmer in his father's household. He was 30 years of age and born in New York State. Susannah, his wife, was not with him at that time. It is probable that Truman was back on business or for a visit.

Truman Hart and Susannah, his wife, are buried in the Methodist Cemetery beside the church in Reading, Mich., on the same lot as Susannah's mother, Sally, wife of Chester Molby.
