The surname Hart seems to be widespread. There are now many persons of
this name to be found in directories of various kinds, as The American Genealogical Index, etc. I refer, in particular, to the latest single volume issue of the directory, American Men of Science. In this book are thirty-four biographic accounts of scientists by name of Hart. Their scholastic attainments are very high, as indicated by the positions which they occupy, the degrees after their names, researchers, university professors in many branches of science, including medicine: an excellent showing.
