July 8, Died Mary Gould wife of William Gould." Then: "1751, Dec. 11, Wm. Gould, Jr. and Mary Maltby, married at Branford."

(Branford Rec. p. 102) "Died. 1763. Feb. 11, Mary Gould, wife of William, of smallpox in 37th year of her age. (p. 174) After the death of Mary Maltby, William Gould evidently married again, as I find the following: "1763. May 6, Dr. William Gould mar. Mary Johnson."

Jonathan Maltbie died at Stamford, Conn., Aug. 13, 1745. His widow was killed by lightning, at Stamford, Aug. 9, 1747.
