(From her wedding account)
"The bride, who is a charming brunette, walked slowly up the aisle leaning on the arm of her father, who gave her away. She was most tastefully gowned in a white accordion pleated crepe de chine over white taffeta. The bodice was appliqued with lace. She carried an enormous bridal bouquet of lillies of the valley and her veil was caught up with orange blossoms which were worn by her mother at the latter's wedding.
The maid of honor, Miss Grace Tryon Maltby, a sister, of the bride, looked stunning in a gown of white svele crepe trimmed with blue panne, the bodice of the gown being covered with an exquisite lace bolero. In her hair she wore a wreath of pink roses tied with a black velvet bow, as did all of the bridesmaids."
The bridesmaids were Miss Maude Townshend Maltby, Miss Dorothy Lord Maltby, Miss Eleanor Pierson Alling and Miss Helen Davenport Benedict, cousins of the bride, gowned alike in blue crepe de chine over taffeta, and carrying pink roses.
The best man was William Sayre Woodhull, classmate of the bride- groom, and member of the Yale track team while in college."
VIII.3420. Charles Edward Alling, Jr., b. Feb. 16, 1875 (Emily 7, Geo. W.6, Augustus 5, Stephen 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. June 1902, Ade- laide Durant of New Haven, Conn. He was in the firm of his father, who owned a large lumber mill. They had, I think, four children. I have names of only three. He died about 1926 (?).

VIII.3421. Eleanor Pierson Alling, b. Nov. 24, 1876 (Emily 7, Geo.W.6, Augustus 5, Stephen 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). A lovely girl. She mar. June 25, 1902, James Willey Todd, who was in the firm of his father, James E. Todd, Builders and Contractors. They resided at 703 George Street, New Haven, on a piece of land which had belonged to her grand- father (Timothy?) Alling's estate, facing on Sherman Avenue. In my early childhood they were a wealthy New Haven family about 1924, Mrs. Todd separated from her husband. Mrs. Todd was Treasurer of the Maltby Association, and in charge of the Family Reunion held at Branford, assisted by her cousin, Grace Tryon Maltby. She died about 1948.

VIII.3422. Percy William Alling, b. June 5, 1879 (Emily 7, Geo.W.6, Augustus 5, Stephen 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Elsie Stribinger, about 1911. He was a graduate of Yale University. Married and went to live in Cleveland, Ohio. No children. He died about 1947.
VIII.3423. Roger Ellsworth Alling, b. Jan. 16, 1882 (Emily 7, Geo.W.6, Augustus 5, Stephen 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). He was a Yale graduate and a member of the select fraternity of "Cloister." A newspaper clipping, with picture, is headed: "Roger Alling All 'Round Athlete."
