VIII.3013. Rev. George Edward Thompson, b. May 17, 1863 (Sally Cranston 7, Almira 6, Jacob 5, Benj.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). His parents died when he was quite young and at the age of nine years he went to live with his uncle, Josiah Thompson. When 22 years old, he made a public confession of his faith, in the Presbyterian Church at Lake Forest, Illinois. In the Lake Forest Academy his preparatory studies were pursued and he graduated from Lake Forest University in 1886.

In the autumn of the same year he entered the Seminary at Princeton and remained three years. On May 11, 1888, he was licensed by the Presbytery of Logansport, Indiana, and ordained by the Presbytery of New Castle, June 25, 1889; being at the same time installed pastor of Christ Church, Wilmington, Delaware. He was released from his charge May 28, 1894. From June 29, 1894 to April 18, 1899, he was pastor of the Second Avenue Church, Detroit, Mich. From June 27, 1899 to Sept. 28, 1903, he was pastor of the Westminster Church at Hamilton, Ohio. He supplied the church at Monta Vista, Colorado, during the winter of 1903/4, and during the summer of 1904; he was installed pastor of this church Sept. 1, 1904, continuing in this relation until May 15, 1906. After this he supplied the church at Lamar, Colorado, until his death Dec. 5, 1906, at St. Luke's Hospital, Denver, Colorado, of consumption, in the 44th year of his age. He was buried at South Bend, Indiana. He received the degree of A. M. from Princeton College in 1888.

Mr. Thompson was President of the Delaware State Union of the Y.P.S.C.E. for three years and was a member of the Advisory Council of the World's Congress of Religions. For several years he was Chairman of the committee on temperance of the Presbytery of Daton, Ohio.

He mar. July 30, 1889, Maud Washburn Cushman, at South Bend, Ind., who with three daughters and his sister Mrs. James Thompson (Julietta A. Cranston) of Owosso, Mich., survive him.

VIII.3028. Mae Morris, b. Nov. 21, 1875 (Sarah A.7, Wm.N.6, Jacob 5, Benj.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. 1938, Mortomer Loomis. 1939 she was a widow and had one son who was living with her at 793 West Main St., Geneva, Ohio.

VIII.3029. Fred Hubert Morris, b. Oct. 21, 1877 (Sarah A.7, Wm.N.6, Jacob 5, Benj.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). He served in the Spanish American War. Res. mainly with Helen E. Maltby Van-Slyke, 244 West Main St., Geneva, Ohio. Unmarried in 1938.
