"New Departments are to be added to Federal Bank."
"With the formal opening on Monday, Dec. 1, 1924, of the spacious new home of the Federal Trust and Savings Bank of Hollywood, at Holly- wood boulevard and Highland avenue--"Hollywood's Home Bank"--will add trust and bond departments with L. M. Simpson in charge as trust officer and department manager....Mr. Simpson comes to Southern California from Elkhart, Ind., where he had extended experience in abstract of title, insurance and building and loan work, general banking in both national and state institutions and trust company business. In the banking line he began as messenger and collector, passed successively through the intermediate clerical and official positions to that of vice-president and executive head, and consummated his banking experience by organizing and managing the Co-Operative Savings and Loan Society and the Citizens Trust Company, of which he was the executive head, with marked success for eleven years.
Mr. Simpson was active in public affairs, prominent in the Indiana State Bankers Association, held commission as lieutenant-colonel in the Indiana State Militia and during the World War was a member of the Indiana state executive committee for the Salvation Army war fund, and the military staff of the Honorable James P. Goodrich, governor of In- diana.
Attracted like a multitude of others, Mr. Simpson came to Hollywood as a tourist, became impressed with the exceptional advantages and possibilities of the movie city and now identifies himself permanently with its banking and business interests, to which he becomes a valuable acquisition."
