George Ward and Julia English; he b. 1850, was an accountant. Later studied law. Grad. Ann Arbor. He d. at Los Angeles, Calif., Mar. 3, 1896; his widow d. Jan. 8, 1900.

VIII.2408. Edward Storrs Atwater, b. Apr. 10, 1853 (J.P.Atwater 7, Jer. Atwater 6, Lois Hurd 5, Esther 4, John 3, John 2, Wm.1) Mar. Jan. 20, 1880, Caroline Park Swift, dau. of Charles W. and Mary S. Messler of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., b. Nov. 17, 1857. He was of Phillips Academy, Andover, Yale, 1875; classical course. Studied law at Pough- keepsie. Admitted to the bar, 1880. In 1891 elected president of the Farmers and Manufacturer's Bank, Poughkeepsie. "His residence is one of the handsomest in Poughkeepsie." Member of First Reformed Church and of the Dutchess Club, director Poughkeepsie Iron Works, and of the Forest of Dean Iron Co., trustee of Poughkeepsie Savings Bank.
