Maltby Genealogy

American Lineage

There is no doubt in the compiler's mind but what Lafayette and William were own first cousins. If so, who has dropped William's name from the records?

Lafayette's father was Anson (6), consequently William's father should be a brother of Anson, (sons of Timothy 5).

The sons of Timothy (6) were: Hiram, b.1817; John, b.1822; Charles Rollin, b. 1824; Albert H., b. 1827; Ralph Robinson, b. 1830; Chauncy Smith, b. 1833.

Henry Maltby had a son Frederick, b. 1855 (this line appears not to fit). James Maltby had sons William, b. 1834 and George Seymour.

William Maltby who mar. Watty Green in 1850 must have had a sis- ter Mary, as he often spoke of her and wanted his eldest dau. called Mary for her. (Timothy 6 had a dau. Marie, b. 1832). There appears to be no place for this William except as a son of Timothy.

William left home because of what he considered undeserved punish- ment. He ate some pies, and evidently his mother (or step-mother) rendered severe punishment. When he left he said "You will never hear from me again."
