Many years ago they were for a few hours in Vancouver, B.C. We went over one evening to see them at the Hotel Georgia and found both Dr. Maltby and his wife, delightful people. (They may have had two children, but doubtful).

"He was a son of Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Bliss) Seymour. She was the only child of Rev. Isaac and Emily (Curtis) Bliss; Rev. Isaac Bliss, b. May 24, 1837, at Oahu, Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands, d. June 24, 1870, at Mo- line, Ill., mar. Dec. 22, 1857, at Moline, Frank Seymour, b. Mar. 4, 1831, at Gramville, Mass., d. Mar. 3, 1864, at Moline. Son of Alex- ander and Electa (Parker) Seymour." (The item was not clearly worded)
Prof. Arthur Bliss Seymour was professor of Botany at Harvard University, a Botanist of not only national, but international repu- tation. He has been said to be "supreme" in his chosen specialty. She was a member of the Maltby Association, and Prof. Seymour was for long years an old and valued friend through his letters.
