VII.1732. Seraph Elizabeth Maltbie, b. Mar. 18, 1852, Falls Village, Conn. (Chas.B.6, Elon 5, Benj.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. May 27, 1874, Lee Parker Dean, of Falls Village, Conn. Removed to Bridgeport, Conn., Oct. 6, 1886, later to Cambridge, Mass. Res. Burton Hall, Dana Street. Mrs. Dean, a long-time friend through letters, furnished much of the records of descendants of Elon (5) Maltbie. She published a book of verse, about 1907, and before me are poems of hers and one of Lee Parker Dean, pub. 1903.
Mrs. Dean and her daughter Olive attended the Maltby-Maltbie Family Reunion at Branford, Conn; and her son, Mr. Henry C. Dean painted the place-cards for the luncheon, which depicted the Maltby coat-of-arms. Mrs. Dean and Miss Olive Dean called on us at New Hav- en, prior to 1906.
