VII.1493. William John Maltby, b. Sept. 24, 1850, Vernon Village, N.Y. (Norman 6, John 5, Wm.4, Jos.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Thursday, May 13, 1880, Emma Aurelia Leake, at Sedalia, Mo., dau. of James Payton and Mary Hane (Rogers) Leake. She b. Sept. 14, 1858, Greenfield, Ohio. Her father James Leake, was b. in Albermarle Co., Virginia, 1817; d. in Sedalia, Mo., 1890. He was a son of Robert Sharpe and Nancy (Heasted) Leake. Her mother, Mary Jane Rogers, was b. in Greenfield, Ohio, in 1822; mar. Sept. 16, 1846, dau. of Thomas Rogers, b. Oct. 19, 1782, London Co., Va., and wife, Nancy Watt. He was son of William Rogers, b. June 8, 1750, Bucks Co., Pa., and Phoebe (Stewart) Rogers. He was s. of Hamilton Rogers and Mary Mains, son of William and Jane (Hamilton Rooney) Rogers, a widow, who came to America about 1720 and settled at Philadelphia.

Mr. Maltby (1915) was Pres. and Mgr. of Maltby Coffee Co., of Sedalia, Mo. His son, Harold, is a member of the same company. He d. Apr. 11, 1928, at Sedalia. (Records by his son Harold).

VII.1494. Arthur Norman Maltby, b. Mar. 7, 1854 (Norman 6, John 5, Wm.4, Jos.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1886, Martha Stanley Humphreys, at St. Louis, Missouri, dau. of David English and Melvian (Goode) Humphreys. She b. July 3, 1858, in Cole Co., Mo.

Mr. Maltby was one of the organizers of the S.H. Beiler Wholesale Grocery Company of Sedalia, Mo., and its secretary and treasurer for about twenty years. In 1901 removed to Kansas City, and for ten years was president and manager of the Central Manufacturing Co., manufacturers of hickory handles. Later in real estate business in Kansas City, Mo. He d. Fri. Nov. 23, 1928, at Kansas City.

                    Arthur Maltby
                  Dies Here After
                  Lengthy Illness.
      Former Manufacturer Will Be Buried Monday in
         Pleasant Hill.

Arthur Norman Maltby, 74 years old, 4130 Walnut Street, former president and general manager of the Central Manufacturing Company, died today in St. Luke's Hospital, where he had been ill several weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in the J.F. O'Donnell funeral home, 3742 Main Street. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill. Members of the Sons of the American Revolution will be pall-bearers.

Mr. Maltby was born March 7, 1854 in Verona, N.Y. He came to Missouri with his parents and lived on a farm near Clinton, Mo., un- til 1868, when he went to Sedalia to receive his education.

In that city he later helped organize the S.H. Beiler Wholesale Grocery Co., and remained with the firm twenty years as secretary and treasurer.

In 1901 Mr. Maltby moved to Kansas City and became associated with the Central Manufacturing Company. Later he was with the C.L.
