VI.960. Brigadier-General Edward Payson Chapin, b. Aug. 21, 1831, (Eliz.5, Isaac 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). He was a Brig.-Gen. in the Civil War, for the Union, and fell at Port Hudson, May 27, 1863, while leading five thousand men in a charge on that fort. Unmarried.

VI.961. Lucinda Maltby, b. 1830, Colden, Erie Co., N.Y. (Benj.5, Isaac 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Trumbull Kimberly of Batavia, N.Y. Someone sent the name of a child, but another wrote: "Do not know if he ever was." Probably the child died young.

     but letters to Boston were returned.

VI.963. Elizabeth White Maltby, b. 1835 (Benj.5, Isaac 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Edward Brown of Buffalo, N.Y. She d. in New York.

VII.1997.  Louis Brown, b. ---; d. in 1905 or 1906.
                           Believe he never married.

Elizabeth White Maltby owned the painting of General Isaac (4) Maltby. Louis Brown gave a photograph of the portrait to Col. Reginald Love Foster.

VI.967. Julia Love, b. Dec. 20, 1827 (Maria 5, Isaac 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Apr. 24, 1848, at Buffalo, N.Y., Dr. Walter Cary of Batavia, N.Y.; b. Dec. 21, 1818; d. Nov. 1, 1888. He was a son of Trumbull Cary of Conn., and Margaret Elinor Brisbane of Penn. Madame Cary died Oct. 8, 1918, at Buffalo. Before me is her printed obituary, on heavy paper, on the 4th page, under her parents' names, is a crest, a bird, perhaps a rook, standing and the motto "Omnia Vincent Amor," below just the one word "Julia." Under Dr. Cary's parents, at the right side, is a crest, a bird, probably a pelican, and motto "Virtute Exerptae," below is: "Walter." Below are the names of her children and grandchildren.
