VI.693. Mary Maltby, b. Feb. 4, 1805 (Jonathan 5, Jonathan 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). Mar. Nov. 1827, Harry Prior. She d. Dec. 23, 1830.

VI.694. Isaac Maltby, b. June or July 17, 1806 (Jonathan 5, Jonathan 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). Died May 23, 1883 in Nebraska. A relative writes that: "Isaac was living on his farm in Nebraska over forty years ago, at Spring Creek. (Letter 1928), with his children."

VI.695. Joseph H. Maltby, b. June 19, 1808 (Jonathan 5, Jonathan 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). Mar. Dec. 1834, Sarah Cooper. He d. Mch. 6, 1852. Mr. Glenn Thurstan Maltby, Muleshoe, Texas, wrote: Jan. 15, 1945. "Great-Grandfather was Joseph, resided in Vermont. Went to Illinois in 1837, when Grandfather Rollin Cornelius Maltby was six weeks old. (born in Vermont, 1837). He, Rollin, had a half-brother, whose name I do not know. My Father was Rollin Russell Maltby, he died in 1939. This family had a tradition of two brothers who came from Wales and settled in Vermont."

               McHenry Co., Illinois.

VI.696. David Maltby, b. Aug. 3, 1810 (Jonathan 5, Jonathan 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). Mar. Oct. 1832, Betsey Alexander. Rem. to McHenry Co., Ill. before 1844. Died Mar. 6, 1850, ae. 40.

Letter from a niece, who writes that: "When Uncle David knew he was going to die, he painted all the wood-work in the house black. It annoyed his wife very much. There is an old leather covered vel- ume brought from Vermont, entitled, Life of Harlan Page. Harlan P. Gove was named for him. I do not think he was a relative." His widow re-married. "He left three sons." I have record on only one.

VII.1531.  Abner Maltby, b. Mar. 1838; d. Sept. 5, 1842, ae. 4.

VI.698. Susan Maltby, b. Sept. 24 (or 29) 1813 (Jonathan 5, Jona- than 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). Mar. Dec. 1833, Lewis Godfrey, at Vershire, Vt. She d. Oct. 25, 1838. Letter from a relative states she thinks she mar. shortly before the mar. of her sister, Alice. She had slightly darker brown hair than Alice. She died when her son Dexter Godfrey was born. Mr. Godfrey and his son Dexter, removed to New York City and they became quite wealthy.
