American Lineage

"possession of her sister, Hester Ann (Maltby) Doty. Mary died of tuberculosis.

This book contains an "In Memorium" written by Alice (7) Malt- by, dau. of Rev. Benj. Kerr Maltby, published in the 'Louisville, Kentucky Commercial, June 30, 1880, of Rev. William Wesley (6) Maltby. Also the fruneral notice of David (6) Maltby and of William Hender- son (7) Maltby son David (6). Also obituaries of Rev. George Wash- ington Maltby (6) and his daughter, Mary (Maltby) Martin.

The fruneral notice of Mary Maltby is in colours. A female figure, in low neck gown, puff sleeves, wasp waist and white apron, leans against a huge marble urn and pedestal, a willow tree in the background. The colours have faded but the tree is green, and the dress and cape, which the figure holds to her eyes, are sort of a taupe. As the notice is one hundred years old the colours are soft and pleasing. This is not a fruneral notice, but reads: 'To the Memory of'---."
