Child of Elizabeth Maltby Linsley and Dr. Samuel Bullock:
VI.925. Stephen Evelyn Bullock. He served in the Union Army in
1861-65 and at one time lived in Wolcott, Wayne Co., N.Y.

"Stephen E. Bullock, served in the War for the Union. His father was an M.D. Once he had to leave home on business but was strangely hindered all the morning about starting time, someone hurriedly called that Stephen was in the river. The father saved the life of his boy--then he knew why he could not start on his journey. I used to hear this story when a child."

from "Cousin" Hannah Linsley, to compiler.

V.345. Dan Evelyn Linsley, b. Mar. 14, 1800, Northford (Sarah 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). He was born on the old farm at Northford. He mar. Aug. 6, 1820, Betsey Hoadley of Branford. They were mar. by Rev. T. P. Gillett, who was a prominent minister in those days.

There is a double descent from Maltby here, as "The Hoadley Genealogy" gives, "Betsey Hoadley, b. July 29, 1802, m. Aug.6,1820, Daniel E. Linsley of Northford." She descended from William (1), Elizabeth Maltby (2), Abel (3) Hoadley, Isaac (4) Hoadley, Abraham(5) Hoadley. Hence they were 3rd cousins, once removed, the generations not coming out even.

"They left Conn. with the tide going west and spent some years in Canaan, Wayne Co., Pen., and also at Wolcott, Wayne Co., N.Y., where he was a farmer and died in March, 1873. His wife d. Nov.30, 1864."
