IV.115. Samuel Maltby, b. Nov. 15, 1746, at Northford (Sam.3, Sam.2, Wm.1). The marriage record reads: "Northford. 1768, February 11, Samuel Maltbie, Jr. Branford, and Rosanna Coe of Wallingford, mar. by Caleb Merriman." She was dau. of Simeon and Anna (Morris) Coe, of Durham, Conn. She was b. Dec. 22, 1749 (Branford Rec. p. 6)

"Mch. 18, 1770. Rosanna Maltbie, Admitted to the Church."

     Samuel's tombstone is in the old Yard at Northford.  It reads:
                         "In
                       Memory
                   Mr. Samuel Maltbie
                      who died
                     Aug. 18, 1774
               In the 27th year of his age."

The Administration of his Estate follows:
     "Court. 1774. Oct. 18, p. 359, Vol. 12."  Guilford
      Administration of Estate of Samuel Maltbie, Jr. granted to
his widow Rosanna Maltbie.
